Age, Youth, Beauty and Ageism
Freckles which once delicately dotted my nose and cheeks are conglomerating together to form patches here and there across my face. Fine lines are multiplying and deepening around my eyes and up my forehead where they are met by silver flecks arriving at my hair line.
How do I feel about these developments, the passage of time leaving its mark upon my face?
Conventional beauty standards would see these changes as flaws to be eliminated. But my super freckles remind me of long summer days spent carelessly in the sun. And those lines were caused by shared laughter over the years.
I am now seeing my mother and grandmothers in my face.
My face holds many memories.
I’ll keep them thanx.
